Unity in Christ isn't something that just happens to us—it's something we actively pursue with intentional devotion. Drawing from Jesus' high priestly prayer in John 17 and the early church's example in Acts 2, we discover that true Christian unity requires us to make every effort and devote ourselves wholeheartedly to belonging to one another. This means moving beyond simply attending church to actually committing ourselves to a church family, signing our names to membership commitments not out of obligation but out of serious dedication to Christ and His people. The beauty of this unity unfolds in four powerful ways: we put up with each other's faults, recognizing that none of us are perfect and we're all in process; we share our possessions generously—our homes, food, time, and resources; we share our problems humbly, admitting when we need help rather than pretending we have it all together; and we speak truth in love to each other about our sins, both confessing our struggles and lovingly confronting blind spots in our brothers and sisters. This kind of radical belonging creates a community unlike anything the world offers—a place where we can be fully known and still deeply loved, where we're set free from the traps of sin through authentic relationships. The challenge before us is clear: will we commit to this kind of intentional, devoted, relational unity that reflects the very nature of the Trinity itself?
